As a passenger terminus, King's Cross sees very little freight — for freight on the East Coast corridor, head north to junctions such as Peterborough or Doncaster.

Best days & times

Peak periods bring the busiest departures, but the station is rewarding throughout the day. It's also a very short walk to St Pancras International for a change of scene. Check current timetables before travelling.

Getting there & parking

King's Cross is served by several London Underground lines and is a short walk from St Pancras International, so public transport is by far the easiest way to arrive. Driving and parking in central London is not recommended.

A grand, welcoming station that children enjoy, but it is very busy — hold hands, keep well back from platform edges, and stay clear of passenger flows.
